At Desert TheatreWorks, we believe live theatre is for everybody. We are committed to creating inclusive, welcoming experiences for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing audience members through ASL-interpreted performances offered throughout our season.
Our goal is simple:
to ensure every guest has equal access to the stories, laughter, and magic unfolding onstage.
🎠What Are ASL-Interpreted Performances?
During an ASL-interpreted performance, one or more professional American Sign Language interpreters translate the spoken and sung portions of the show into ASL in real time.
Interpreters are placed in a clearly visible location near the stage to ensure:
Strong sightlines
Clear visibility
Lighting that supports both the show and interpretation
