Desert Theatreworks has great programs for the youth of the Coachella Valley.
Summer Camp 2024
Desert Theatrework's KidsWorks Summer Camp offers an intensive all-day 2-week theatre program, culminating in a fully staged musical performance. Every summer students learn singing, dancing, acting or technical theatre while having the experience of a lifetime.
Tuition
Limited openings for DSUSD students (Grades TK-8) to attend for FREE through the Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP). All you need is your student's name, school, grade, and student ID number.
Please note that Palm Desert Charter is not included in DSUSD ELOP funds. Washington Charter has provided 10 FREE tuition scholarships for their students for Track A and 20 scholarships for Track B. Please submit your interest form TODAY!
*If you submit an interest form, you will receive an email with the registration form and information the first week of May.
Other Charter schools are not a part of the DSUSD FREE tuition.
Registration is first come, first serve!
Students from outside districts can attend our 1 week Spring Camp for $375 and our 2 week Summer Camp for $750, given there is availability.

– 8AM-10:30AM, final performance Friday June 23 at 10am
Broadway On The Edge A: Grades 4-8
– 1PM-5PM, final performance Friday June 23 at 4pm
Leadership A: Grades 7 and up
– 8am-5pm

Desert Theatreworks’ KidsWorks Summer Musical Theatre Camp Program offers three choices of 2-week performing arts summer camp for grades 1-8 and extended leadership opportunities for High School Students. Every summer students learn singing, dancing, and acting or technical theatre and be a part of a staged musical production.
Tuition
Desert Sands Unified Students grades 1-8 can attend for FREE through the Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP). All you need is your student’s name, school, grade and student ID number. Please note *George Washington Charter School is not included in the DSUSD funding for this program and is not eligible for FREE tuition.
*Students from surrounding districts can attend our 2 week camp for $600.

Extended Leadership Opportunities for grades 9-12.
Our Teen Jr. Counselors play a significant role in the ongoing running of our Kidsworks Program. These teens, grades 9-12, are responsible for much of the ongoing management including set up of activities, clean up, helping with dropoff and pick-up, amongst other things. Our teen Jr. Counselors are primarily Alumni who have grown up through our program and often have more experience with our program than many of our staff members. All Junior counselors will go through a screening and training process prior to camp. More information will be emailed to you as camp gets closer.
