Dear Loyal Guest & Supporters of DTW,

Who would have thought five months ago that theatre worldwide would be dark due to a worldwide pandemic? We at Desert TheatreWorks hope that you and your family are safe and healthy as we find our way through this difficult time. The DTW Family remains strong and healthy; however, we miss our friends and patrons terribly.

DTW has been on pause since March 14, 2020 halting our SOLD-OUT performances of The Producers. Since then we have been awaiting guidance from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the State of California as to when it would be safe to resume operations. To date there seems to be no clear answer as businesses across the county re-open and re-close as well as false starts at schools and public facilities. DTW takes the safety of our guest seriously and we will not resume operations before we can safely do so in an environment, we can all feel comfortable in.  With that being said, we encourage you to anticipate being reunited in the future and continuing to grow our performing arts community.

Lance and I have decided that we will keep our commitment to you as our guest. We will not cancel or change what we were presenting when operations were abruptly halted this spring. DTW will remain on pause until March of 2021 when we will pick up where we left off before the pandemic, completing the remaining shows of the 2019/2020 Season. The Producers, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and All My Sons. In September 2021 we will present our 2020/2021 Season opening with Nana’s Naughty Knickers.

Below I will address many of the common questions you might have about resuming operations. On behalf on the entire DTW Family, we appreciate you and are grateful for your understanding and unwavering support during this difficult time. Please stay safe and we look forward to seeing you again!

What if it is determined that theatre can resume prior to March 2021?
DTW has several exciting show options we can present to you prior to the resumption of the paused season in March 2021. Should we be allowed to reopen sooner, we will announce new programming as soon as possible. Any new productions will strictly adhere to all safety guidelines at the time of the production.

What happens to the tickets that I for the remaining season that was paused?
The Producers, Joseph, and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and All my Sons are not cancelled and will be presented starting March 2021. Your tickets and reserved seating will be honored. These shows will be presented in accordance with all safety guidelines at the time of the new performance dates.

I have season tickets for the 2020/2021 Season starting September of this year. What happens to those shows?
This 2020/2021 Season will become our 2021/2022 Season. Your season tickets and reserved seating will be honored. We will open that season with Nana’s Naughty Knickers in September 2021.

I have a credit with DTW. Will I be able to use that credit in the future?
Yes. All credits issued will be honored at anytime in the future for any event at DTW.

What precautions will DTW be taking to protect its guest?
Any show that DTW presents will follow all the available CDC, State and Local guidelines at the time of the production. Safety of all is our number one priority.

I am not sure I will feel comfortable coming back to theatre.
DTW understands that everyone has a different situation and level of comfort. It is extremely hard for all of us to judge what that comfort level is when the facts and situation is constantly changing around us. We at DTW want to work with you based on the information at the time of the production to make sure each of you join us in a way the best suits you.

What can I do with tickets that I have purchased but do not intend to use?
DTW is a 501C (3) nonprofit theatre. Our continued operations are dependent on the support and backing of the community. We encourage you to donate your tickets to a friend. Or donate them back to the theatre where we can offer them to members of the community that do not have access to the arts. We can also issue you a credit to be used at anytime when you feel comfortable in the future to rejoin us.

What can I do to help preserve local theatre and DTW specifically?
This is a question we get asked a lot. Through the pandemic DTW still incurs operational cost. If you would like to make a contribution you can donate back tickets or make a monetary  contribution at our website at www.dtworks.org.

Is the DTW office open? How can I communicate with you?
The DTW office is closed and will remain so until we can safely reopen. You can email us at info@dtworks.org and we will respond within 72 hours.
